Honeycomb cliffs, Elgol
Skye
|
Elgol on the Isle of Skye boasts exceptional views across the sea to the Cuillin mountains, and it also has a rarely found feature: a the line of cliffs of pale-coloured sandstone with conspicuous honeycomb weathering, caused by, among other things, sand grains from the sea in rough weather pitting the sandstone over thousands of years.
